Long Freakin Weekend

The best :)

Wednesday . . . doesnt matter, cant remember what I did :)

Thursday . . . (best day)
THANKSGIVING . . . woo hoo! Probably my favorite holiday, by far!


TD5K happened and it was greatness . . . finished the route in 48 minutes, I think I can do better, which is why I'm determined to train and be able to run a full one in 36 minutes in the spring :)

A shower and then the day consisted of making and eating the following :)
Carrots and Peas in garlic/lime butter

Dressing - I made solo

Biscuits

Eggs - I may have already ate some of these

Green Bean Casserole

Smashed Potatoes 


Friday consisted of going out at 11pm (Thursday night) and standing in line in order to go shopping with crazy Minnesotans . . . never again, I tell ya . . . never again. A few hours after that I ended up returning just about eveything I bought . . . waste of my time to be honest.

Saturday consisted of rocking out at home . . . it was great until about 8pm when I got super tired and fell asleep for the night. Guess I just needed the sleep.

Best part of the whole weekend was taking these pictures with me madre . . . love her to pieces, and shes honestly what I'm Thankful for in this world.

MUFFINS

This morning I couldnt sleep so I decided to wake up and make some muffins . . . best decision I've ever made :)

Who would have thought that a package of 'just add water' Betty Crocker muffins, flour, butter and sugar would make these beauties . . .







I must boast . . . these were delicious at work this morning. I always crave muffins in the morning, sometimes I'm tempted to stop at Super America on my way in order to pick one up . . . ok LIE . . . sometimes I actually do stop at Super America and buy a muffin. HOWEVER . . . the $1.79 muffins dont hold a candle to these. For $1.02 I got a package that made 3 . . . talk about penny pinching ;)

So now . . . Cheri is gonna stock up on these little puppies.

For Friday

I'm posting this for Friday . . .

Today I went for a "5K" run with a couple of friends from work . . . we've registered for the TD5K happening through lifetime fitness on Thanksgiving and thought well we better practice this route before we go about doing this . . .

So this is the actual route that the 5K takes us on . . .

We ended up going a mile too far :) . . . oh the joys of practicing and not knowing where we're going in downtown mpls. I just hope for the actual run the streets are mapped off :)

Oy was I sore in the morning.

Unsuccessful :(

Challenge Accepted!
Challenge Failed . . . well projected failure.

I dont believe I'll make my 1000 mile challenge . . . which is sad, but I'm coming to the conclusion that it was because in like April I kept thinking that I would make it up in the summer and never actually did. As of right now I have 729 miles completed, there are exactly 46 days left in the 2011 year . . . which means 6 miles a day. I'm not going to act like I'll accomplish that. So instead I'll suck it up, realise that I wont get 1000 miles accomplished and hope to achieve 850 by the end of the year. If I hit or go over, kudos to me . . .

Now the question is . . . do I set the 1000 miles goal again for 2012 knowing what needs to be done in order to achieve it. Hmmmmm

Great Day :)

So I just experienced a great day . . . totally needed it.
What made it so great? The fact that I did nothing but relax, workout, eat and watch movies. Sometimes youjust need those kinds of days.

I was able to lay in bed for a significant part of the day, and I'm sure I should have been working, however after the week I had, I just wanted a little relaxation.

Today I went to the gym and was able to do some running. I spent about an hour and a half at the gym and competed 6 miles. Yey . . .
I have to come to the conclusion that I dont think the 1000 miles are going to happen. I think I'll get to maybe 900, but that might be it. I'm gonna be ok with that . . . I'm ready to do other stuff, more spinning and try for rowing more than I have been.

Yey to a great day . . . about to go put in another movie. :)

Songs

I often get snipets of songs in my head and i sing them out loud until the people around me are so sick of hearing it that they tell me to shut it up.

Well right now this seems to be the song . . .

Why am I singing that you ask . . . oh because I totally rocked it and was able to reserve an iphone via apple store today. Woot woot . . . this means by this time tmr I will have my very own iphone in my posession.

tonight I did my 5k run to set my time . . . tonight I did 3.1 miles in 41.17. Now the goal is to get it under 40 . . . wish me luck :)

Personal Record

Or PR as some people refer to it.

Last night I got together with a friend and although she has no idea shes my favorite person to talk to about running. She motivates me without even attempting to, its greatness.

She talked about Personal Records when it comes to running a 5k . . . now I'm NO WHERE near her 22 minutes, but it got me thinking that I'd like to work on my PR. Last summer I was able to condition my body to where I was (I think one time) able to do 3 miles in 36 minutes. Thats probably my PR. What'd like to is to get that to be 35. Now I'm not gonna tell you that this morning I woke up and did a 5k in 36 minutes . . .whats the point of lying to you? This morning I did run though, and I completed a 5k in 41 minutes.

For some reason I cant run . . . the ability is not there right now. But I'm setting yet another goal for myself ( I swear I set one of these every time I post). Each morning I go to the gym I'll be running in order to work on my PR. Why you ask . . . B/c I want to do this . . .



And I want to complete it in less than 40 minutes :)

Remember that goal I set for 50 more miles before I get my Iphone . . . wondering how thats going? (not well, ha)
