Feels So Good

Ok so work started this week as most of you know and I have been soooo horrid when it comes to eating and working out.

Normally I workout Tuesday-Friday . . . but this week I was thinking I'd do Monday-friday only less than what I normally do. Yea so Monday came around and I was too tired to go, Tuesday came around and I worked too late and become too tired to go in. Finally Wednesday is here and I thought 'I'm gonna go in after work' . . . I ended up going home after work, then I kept pushing back the time which I'd go . . . until finally 8pm and I got off my booty and got to the gym.

I started out with a run . . . I found out i can only run 5.5mph now . . . cant do slower. I cant do an epic long time (one mile straight, then walk for a mile, then run again for a mile) but I can run :)

Had something weird happen tonight, I noticed that my feet were kinda sorta not really numb after 50 minutes on the elliptical . . . i dont know if its because I did 45 min walk/jog then 50 minutes on the elliptical machine or if it was the motion . . . I dunno it was weird.

Anyway the workout was AMAZING, and I'm actually looking forward to going in tomorrow :)
I just hope I can reverse the bad decisions I made earlier in the week and not end up with a weight gain at the end of the week.

Lack of blogging . . .

I am so utterly sorry for my lack of blogging the whole summer. The past few weeks the main thing on my  mind has been work, and if you know me at all you know that I'm completely dreading going back to work (which starts on Monday). I'd explain my complete disgust for school here, but its too public of a forum to do that.

Anyway . . . this summer I've been able to tack on many miles to my 1000 mile challenge. The year started out with like 6 people saying they would do this challenge with me . . . however I don't think any of them kept to their promise. No worries though, this was for me and only me.

So as of right now I have 490 miles tracked. Throughout the summer I attempted really diligently to get at least 25 miles a week either ran/walked or from the elliptical machine.

I figured that there are about 20 weeks left to the year and if I can get 26 miles a week for the rest of the year I'll get my 1000 mile goal . . . do-able??? yes . . . will I achieve it . . . who knows. With school starting the likely hood will be low . . . but we'll see we'll see.

Wish me luck :)

Losing weight . . .

I cant seem to do it. Losing weight is a losing battle for me . . . :( . . .

This is my weight loss/gain since end of March

It looks like a pathetic roller coaster. I want my weight loss to look like something they'd build for adults at Valleyfair, NOT something they'd build for the 2-5 year olds at a public park.

I could look at the positive, at least the line isnt where it started . . . but I don't want to look at that, I just wanna be negative.

Ahhh . . . very frustrating. I dont spend 8 hours at the gym each week to gain 2lbs, I dont starve myself all week in order to hear "you've lost 1lb" . . . no seriously.

Workout Post

So today I'm sort of home bound due to the fact that my dog had a surgery :( and I'm hesitant in leaving him solo for a bit. So I can only stand watching television/being on the internet for so long so I needed to find a way to be active in the apt.

So I found my Leslie Sansone 'Walk Away the Pounds' DVD.

This DVD has 5 different workouts (1 mile, 2 mile, 30 minute, walk/kick, and something else). I choose to do the 2 mile portion then added on the walk/kick. Within the hour of the workout I managed to burn off 350 calories. It was a decent workout . . . not high intensity at all, but was able to keep my heart rate in upper zone 1 and zone 2, so decent. :)

I could see myself doing the DVD again, maybe some early morning workouts during the school year . . . we'll see. Or maybe . . . I say I'll do this DVD everyday that my mother goes swimming ;), just kidding.

Debating if I"m doing the gym tonight, so might have to pull out the DVD again.

Recipe Post : Croutons

Today I opened up my new favorite book "Peas and Thank You" . . . the best cookbook ever (ok so I only made one recipe thus far, but I'm optimistic about this one).

I've always wanted to make croutons so I'm super excited about this one.

Whole grain bread, salt, butter, oregano, basil and garlic powder

Butter, garlic powder, herbs before they're melted

 4 slices of bread cubed

Melt the butter and herbs . . . . toss cubed bread in large bowl w/melted butter and place on pan.

Bake @ 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes (make sure to turn over once) . . . then you'll have these super yummy croutons.

YUM!

Washington D.C.

Woo hoo!!! The trip keeps getting better and better . . . the stuff we're doing is mondo fun.

The day started with a 2.5 hour drive to a train station in order for us to get into Washington DC (who wants to drive and park there . . . no one)

See how happy we are (you'd never guess we work up at 5am)

Stop #1, Smithsonian Museum : Air and Space

 Such happy girls.

Stop # 2 Smithsonian Museum : American History

NEEDED to do a stop at Julia Child's kitchen

I hope to have a collection of cookbooks like this (cookbooks that I actually use, lol)

Stop #3 a bike tour of DC (this was my favorite part of the day)

We're super ready for this tour . . .
(this tour, totally made me want to buy a bike)

That just about completes the day, we then hopped the Metro once again to head back to the car, in the midst of the car ride we stopped at Ruby Tuesdays for dinner then came back and passed out :)

Just noticed that this posting is my 100th post . . . I think its awesome that DC commemorates my 100th posting.
